MARITAL PROPERTY
A U.S. state-level legal distinction of a married couple’s individual assets; any property purchased by either of them during marriage is regarded as marital property. For instance, the Individual Retirement Account (IRA) of a married person acquired during the course of marriage is considered marital property.
