MARKET RISK
Possible losses an investor may experience caused by economic factors or other related events such as political turmoil, changes in interest rates, recession, and terrorist attacks that impact the performance of the financial markets in general. Market risk cannot be prevented through diversification although it can be hedged against. Also called systematic risk, there are two main categories: market risk and specific risk.
