MCDONOUGH RATIO
A ratio developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision during Basel II conference. This ratio stemmed out from the Cookie ratio that was primarily developed through Basel I in 1998. Previous discrepancies have been eliminated in the new ratio. Development of new financial instruments generated problems in assessing the risks carried by banks.
