MEDALLION SIGNATURE GUARANTEE
One of the various special certification stamps that is applied to guarantee that the signature, authorizing securities transfer, is authentic. This is required when an owner who want to sell or transfer securities such as stocks and bonds, which are being held in a physical certificate form. If an investor holds securities through his or her broker, he or she need not to acquire a signature guarantee in selling or transferring those securities.
