MEDICAID
A US government program, funded by the federal and state governments, that aids low-income individuals or families, as well as elderly or disabled persons, in paying the costs related to long-term medical and custodial care. An individual or family who wants to receive Medicaid must meet some requirements and go through the application process. Each state has their own program, several requirements, and other guidelines, although Medicaid is mostly funded by the federal government.
