MEDICARE DOUGHNUT HOLE
The range of total prescription drug spending in the Medicare Part D program where all of the costs must be covered from the participants’ own money. The maximum drug cost should be $2,250. When the cost exceeded, Medicare Part D recipients are forced to choose between paying higher insurance programs and paying thousands of dollars from their own money to bridge the "coverage gap". Many lower-income individuals are unable to afford any of these options.
