MERTON MILLER
An American economist who was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics in 1990, along with fellow American economists Harry Markowitz and William Sharpe, for their pioneering work on the Modigliani-Miller theorem. The theory states the connection between the firm’s worth and its debt-equity framework. Born in 1923, his research dealt on corporate finance and the economic and regulatory dilemma of the financial services industry.
