MONETARY ACCORD OF 1951
An agreement between the Federal Reserve Board and the US Secretary of the Treasury about government financing and monetary policy. This represented the resolution of a major conflict between the Fed and the Treasury on World War II finances. Most significantly, the accord gave the Fed independence from the Treasury.
