MORAL OBLIGATION BOND
A revenue bond issued by a municipality or the same government body. It does not only give investors tax exemption benefits in a municipal bond, but also provides additional moral pledge of commitment versus default. The issuing body's commitment is backed by a reserve fund formed to meet any debt service costs the government may not be able to make.
