MORTGAGE SUITABILITY
Standard where mortgage lenders can follow when steering consumers to a mortgage loan. Lenders would be liable for directing consumers toward a not suitable mortgage. While no federal suitability standard exists at present, lenders are assertively opposed to such par because the believe they cannot possibly collect and determine all of the information needed to make a decision for a consumer.
