MORTGAGOR
Borrower, normally an individual or company, in a mortgage agreement. The person borrows money from the lender in order to purchase a real estate property. By giving the lender an interest in the purchased property, which allows it to lend the fund with an accurate risk assessment, the mortgagor gives the lender a guarantee for paying the loan in full.
Also called chargor.
