OCCUPANCY FRAUD
It is a mortgage fraud, where the debtor lies about whether or not the home will be owner occupied. Occupancy fraud occurs if the debtor says that a home will be the owner occupied, when in reality it won’t be. Mortgage lenders normally provide lower rates to mortgages. When occupancy fraud happens, banks take too much risk because they are receiving lower interest rates for the delinquency risk that exists.
