QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL ASSET MANAGER - QPAM
The Employee Retirement Income Security Act or ERISA defines the criteria for a qualified QPAM. Insurance companies and banks that are related may qualify as a QPAM. A QPAM is also described as a registered investment consultant with client assets under management of at least $85 million, and shareholders' or partners' equity in excess of $1 million. This is under amendments which took effect in August 2005.
