A criminal activity that is done to benefit an organization. Money laundering, extortion, bribery, loan sharking and obstruction of justice are some of the examples. In 1970, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations or RICO Act became a U.S. law, allowing law enforcement to charge individuals or groups with racketeering.
