SELLER
In the financial industry, a seller may be one of two things. First, it is an entity that may be an individual or a group that exchanges a product or service in return for some kind of payment. Second, it is an investor in the option market also referred to as a ‘writer’ who gets a premium in exchange for taking the risk of holding a short position in an option. His or her counterpart is the buyer where the seller’s premium is collected from.
