SHORT MARKET VALUE
Short Market Value is the market value of securities that is sold using a brokerage account of an individual. To compute the market value, multiply the security price by the quantity of shares sold short then multiply it again by negative one. The short market value is always negative because it represents the obligation to buy back the shares at a future time.
