SHORT OR SHORT POSITION
Short or Short Position may be defined in two ways. First it is the sale of borrowed security, commodity, and currency. In this definition, the expectation is for the asset’s value to drop. Second, a short, in the field of options, is a sale of an options contract. It is also known as ‘writing’. It is also the opposite of long or long position.
