SILVER PARACHUTE
Silver parachute is a kind of severance. It is granted to employees as a form of severance package in the case that a company was taken over by another company in a merger or acquisition. The benefits included in a silver parachute are severance pay , bonuses, and stock options. Generally, silver parachutes are granted to a significant number of employees that may show up in hiring contracts as clauses.
