SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST FUND
Social Security trust fund is an account for recording excess contributions in the Social Security system that are invested in federal securities for it to grow while in the trust. The Social Security trust fund is utilized by the United States federal government in the case that the worker and employer contributions go beyond the needed fund for the Social Security system as the retired workers collect their benefits.
