SOFT INQUIRY
Soft inquiry is also known as a ‘soft pull’. It is a credit report check. What makes soft inquiry special is that it does not influence the credit score of an individual. Soft inquiry happens when the individual wants to check his or her own credit report that might be done to ensure the correct report, guarantee a score before major loans, and check for any suspicious activity in the report. Credit checks from employers are also soft inquiries as it doesn’t affect credit score.
