SOUR CRUDE
Sour crude is a crude oil that has not met content requirements. Barrels of crude oil that are below the required quality due to reasons like low levels of hydrogen sulfide or carbon dioxide must be stabilized for safety reasons. A sour crude is confirmed if the sulfur level surpasses 0.5%. The purity of the oil is affected if a sour crude is not dealt with immediately.
