SLOC
Standby Letter of Credit (SLOC) is also referred to as a ‘non-performing letter of credit’. It is a letter that a bank issues to guarantee payment towards a third party in behalf of the client of the bank. This letter is used in the case that the client of the bank is unable to pay the a contractual commitment towards a third party and only employed usually as a last resort.
