SUB-PENNYING
Act where brokers, dealers, or high-frequency traders leap to the front line in the National Best Bid and Offer (NBBO), highest and lowest bid offer for a trading instrument, by improving the price in 1/100th of a penny increments. The practice allows the transaction to be placed first, providing the best opportunity to capture the spread.
