SUBSTITUTE CHECK
Paper reproduction of a check copied electronically. Strict guidelines are placed that must be followed for creating a substitute check since these checks can function similar to an original check. Substitute checks are often slightly higher and have a digital image of the original check’s front and back with the words "this is a legal copy of the check".
