SUPPLEMENTAL SECURITY INCOME - SSI
Federal income supplement program, funded by tax revenues, which provides assistance to older and disabled individuals who have little or no income and cash to sustain their basic needs for food, clothing and shelter. In this program, participants are given cash distributions every month.
