TAKEOVER
Purchase of a firm; situation in which the acquiring company makes a bid for a target firm. Then, the acquiring company takes care of all the acquired firm’s operations, debts, and holdings. If the target is a publicly traded company, the acquiring firm makes an offer for all the target’s outstanding shares.
