TAX ATTRIBUTE
Loss or tax credit to be deducted for not recording a cancelled debt on a taxpayer’s gross income. These are changed when a taxpayer files bankruptcy. The individual is not required to declare these debts as taxable income. Attributes include net operating losses and carryovers, general business credit, capital losses, property bases, and foreign tax credit, among others.
