TAX CREDIT
Benefit given to a taxpayer to deduct the amount of income subject to tax. Its value varies based on the credit being given, as well as some types of tax credit granted to entities in certain areas, industries, or classifications. In essence, tax credit lowers an individual’s tax bill.
