TAX-FREE SAVINGS ACCOUNT - TFSA
Account that does not impose taxes on any contributions, interest earned, dividends, or capital gains. Funds from the account can be withdrawn tax-free. Introduced in Canada in 2009, it has a limit of $5,000 each year and is indexed in the following years. Last year, the annual limit was increased to $5,500. The contributions are not tax deductible and any unused room can be carried forward. This is available to individuals aged 18 and above.
