THE GREATEST GENERATION
Phrase describing young American adults during the World War II. Coined by NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw, these individuals were said to be great due to the strife and turmoil they suffered. Aside from prevailing against Adolf Hitler’s great war machine, this generation also survived the Great Depression. Also called G.I. Generation.
