TIGHT MONETARY POLICY
Policy undertaken by a central bank to limit spending in an economy when it is growing too quickly, or to curb inflation when it is escalating too fast. The institution will impose restriction in money supply by increasing interest rates, which will raise the cost of borrowing and reduce its appeal.
