TOTAL UTILITY
Overall satisfaction level a consumer receives by consuming a specific product or service. Every unit of a product or service has its own marginal utility. In essence, total utility is the aggregate marginal utilities of each unit. Classical economic theory implies all consumers seek to obtain the highest possible level of total utility for the money they spend on a product or service.
