TRADE ADJUSTMENT ASSISTANCE - TAA
Unemployment assistance program in the United States offered to workers who lost their job due to increased imports. Administered by the Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance (OTAA), the program assists the affected individuals by providing job training and employment search services, and also income and insurance assistance. To qualify for the assistance, a group of employees must submit a petition stating they lost their jobs or the reduced number of working hours because of foreign trade.
