ACCELERATED COST RECOVERY SYSTEM - ACRS
It is a depreciation system that was introduced in 1981 by the Economic Recovery Tax Act. The ACRS depreciation is actually based on the recovery periods of businesses instead of their useful lives. These periods that were used were already predetermined by the IRS.
