ACTIVE PARTICIPANT STATUS

An active-participant status is an indication of the participation of an individual in a retirement plan sponsored by the employer. The qualified plans are:

  1. Qualified plans such as 401(k) plans, target benefit plans or money purchase pension, defined benefit plans, and profit sharing plans.

  2. Simple IRAs

  3. SEP IRAs

  4. Qualified annuity plans

  5. 403(b) plans

  6. A plan founded for its employees by an instrumentality or agency of the United States or any of its subdivisions, by a political subdivision or state of the United States, and even by the United States itself.

  7. Employee Funded Pension Trusts (established prior to June 25,1959)
