ACTUAL OWNER
An entity or individual that is given the benefit of ownership. Becoming the actual owner, the asset is under the entity's or individual's name and are entitled to any form of advantage that comes with it. Identifying the actual owner is a challenge whenever there are numerous entities or people involved. Also referred to as beneficial owner.
