ADMINISTERED PRICE
The price of a service or good as stated by a governmental or other governing agency. The administered prices are not concluded by the annual market forces of demand and supply.
The examples of an administered prices are rent controls and price controls. The administered prices are commonly imposed to prevent gouging during shortages period and maintaining the affordability of a certain good. Rent controls are geared for the stabilization of rent in certain cities, where the rents are assessed according to a standard of reasonableness.
