ADVERTISING FEDERATION OF AMERICA - AFA

A U.S. East Coast based regional advertising group that was created for the purpose of upholding high industry standard, and for the protection and promotion of the advertising trade. The National Federation of Advertising Clubs, the predecessor of the organization, was formed in 1905 through the merging of local advertising clubs. The organization worked independently from its West Coast counterpart, the Advertising Association of the West (AAW) until 1967 to elevate the advertising industry's standard through education and self-regulation.
