ALIMONY SUBSTITUTION TRUST
A kind of trust agreement wherein the generated income from a trust of a divorced person will be used to pay spousal support. The alimony substitution trust and receiving alimony differ from each other through their taxation. The ex-spouse, responsible to generate income from the trust, is not obligated to pay income taxes from the trust's generated income nor a tax deduction will be received from the payments made from this trust.
