Recognized by the SEC. as one of the established ratings agencies. The traditional focus of A.M. Best is concentrated in providing the letter rating for insurance carriers. It branched out recently to financial securities such as bonds. The ability to fulfill its debt obligations is the basic measurement of a company. The ratings range from S (suspended) to A++ (superior).
