AMERICAN DREAM
Everybody's belief, regardless of the origin or class they were born into, they can achieve their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is likely for everyone. This dream is attained through sacrifice, risk-taking, and hard work, not by chance or luck. Both native-born Americans and American immigrants can achieve the American dream. Contrary to other political and economic systems including communist dictatorships, the country’s free-enterprise system makes possible the instances allowing individuals to go beyond fulfilling their basic needs in order to obtain self-actualization and personal fulfillment.
