ANGELO R. MOZILO
The former CEO, chairman, and co-founder of the mortgage lender Countywide Financial Corp. Born in New York City in 1938, Mozilo co-founded the Countywide with David Loeb back in 1969. By the year 2004, he had made the Countywide the hugest mortgage originator in the United States, with a market share of 13.1%. In the year 2008, the last year of Mozilo prior to the purchase of the company by the Bank of America, Forbes awarded Mozilo as the fourth-highest-paid CEO in United States.
