A-NOTE
This is the highest tranche of structured financial product or a security that is backed by an asset. It is senior to other issued notes, like the B-notes issued in credit proceedings or bankruptcy, and is paid through the use of funds from underlying assets. Depending on the underlying asset’s credit quality, A-notes can be labeled as A, AA or AAA. Sometimes, it is also referred to as Class A notes.
