APPORTIONMENT
It is the loss allocation of all insurance companies that give insurance to properties. The allocation of these companies is used in order to determine the percentage of liability of every insurer. To illustrate, four insurers that each covered $20,000 on a $80,000 property are apportioned a quarter of the claim once the property was destroyed. The term apportionment can also mean the economic benefit distribution.
