AUCTION MARKET PREFERRED STOCK - AMPS
A kind of dutch auction which includes a process utilized to rest the interest dividends, or payments, which are paid on mutual fund shares or preferred stock. The auction normally takes place via an intermediary, and will restart the dividend given every (more or less) 49 days.
The auction market preferred stock is also referred as auction rate preferred stock.
