BAIT RECORD
An internal control employed in accounting to detect improper usage and fraud. Bait records are incorporated within a computerized file so that once it is accessed improperly, the one who accessed it may be tracked. Bait records was named that way because the intentions of parties for misuse and fraud tempts them to "take the bait."
