BANK CAPITAL
Difference between the value of the assets and liabilities of a bank. The bank capital signifies the value of the bank to its investors or the net worth of the bank. The asset part of the capital of a bank includes cash, interest earning loans and government securities like mortgages, inter-bank loans and letters of credit. The liabilities portion of the capital of a bank involves loan-loss reserves and any debt that it owes.
