An individual that spends his time in looking for real estate properties with sizable investment potential. Usually, he intends to find distressed properties and then sell it at a discount, which can be remodeled or repaired and sold at a higher price. It is also applicable to people seeking undervalued properties that can generate good income properties. The phrase is a reference to hunting dogs that points to the location of birds and then recover those once the hunter shoots them down.
