BROADENING FORMATION
Chart pattern formed in times of high volatility, when a security shows great movement with little trend. It is identified by a series of higher pivot peaks and lower pivot troughs. A trendline plotted above the pivot highs and below the pivot lows creates the widening pattern similar to a megaphone.
