BUBBLE COMPANY
Firm whose valuation is much higher than its fundamentals imply. It occurs when speculators continuously buy up the stock, hoping for an increased future earnings. But once the bubble bursts, its shares become worthless. The South Sea Bubble in 1720 was the first well-documented bubble company.
